It takes an experienced and creative team to tackle the challenge of building a new museum.

We began the design process in earnest in 2008 by selecting exhibit design firm Gyroscope, Inc. of Oakland, California. Since then, the Gyroscope team has worked with us to design the museum experience from the inside out—a unique challenge and a unique opportunity, both.

With the exhibit master plan well under way, in early 2010 the design-build team of OZ Architecture and Hensel-Phelps Construction was chosen, along with landscape architects AECOM.

These teams are working hand-in-hand with us to create the exhibits, building, and outdoor spaces that will realize our vision of an unprecedented museum experience.
